Do You Have a Story to Tell?
Your help is sought by national LWML as it prepares to produce a DVD to help members intentionally reach out to others with Christ's love on a one-to-one basis.
It will be used by districts, zones and societies to encourage members to share their faith personally with individuals who do not know the Lord. The DVD will be launched at the 2007 national conventnion in Sioux Falls.
For this purpose, the Faith Talk Task Force is looking for "Heart Stories" to include in the presentation. These are real-life stories from people whose lives have been impacted by another person (preferably a woman) who spoke a
Christian message to them.
This could be someone who came to faith as a result of a woman sharing her faith, or who was brought closer to the
Lord through an acquaintance, friend or family member speaking to them. These do not have to be LWML women, but it is hoped that they will be members of the LCMS.
The stories will have to be told in less than two minutes each. (The Task Force will work with the person to distill the story into this time limit if necessary.) Some stories will be selected and the teller videotaped for inclusion on the Faith Talk DVD. Others may be included in additional written resource material. Every effort will be made to include
individuals of varying ethnicities, ages, and backgrounds.
If you have such a story, e-mail it to President Carolyn Blum now or no later than Sept. 15. Be sure to include the name and contact information of the person who did the witnessing and a short synopsis of the story.
"Keep your minds and hearts working to come up with a few good stories that can serve to be 'idea-starters' to share with others," says Carolyn. "Maybe other LWMLers will be inspired to do something similar to how you allowed God to act through you to witness God's love and saving grace for all people."
